Gippsland farmers told to check before cutting firebreaks

Farmers are being told to check with their local councils before cutting roadside firebreaks this summer. East Gippsland council says all roads in the shire have been assessed for their conservation value, and farmers can no longer create ploughed firebreaks in road reserves without approval from council.
