Gippsland Food Rates Highly in Asia ExpoEcstatic feedback from stall held at Asian food extravaganza By Kate Dempsey - 25th May 2000 - Back to News Gippsland food - including wine, cheese, meat fresh vegetables, herbs and grains were regarded highly at the Food Asia Expo in Singapore.
City Mayor Tony Hanning was delighted. "The Gippsland stand received an overwhelming response, with many visitors commenting on the high quality of the region's produce," he said. (Source: The Latrobe Valley Express).
Gippsland is now a part of Australia's well known and respected reputation as producing natural, high quality foods.
The produce represented in the expo is a big part of the regions growing business as part of increasing demand for such products.
The Food Asia Expo, held every two years, is a time when Gippsland can show its diverse product range, and inform people of what they are doing.
Gippsland was part of Australia's role in the 2500 exhibitors from 67 countries around the world. 45 per cent of the Australian traders came form Victoria alone, and combined several delegations from different regions.
The attention that arose from Gippsland's part in the Expo is incredibly pleasing, and something the whole community can boast about.
