Event Sponsorship ApplicationsWellington Shire Council is inviting applications for event sponsorship across the shire. By Wellington Shire Council - 19th June 2006 - Back to News "Council is eager to get behind events because we see them as important to our community. Providing financial support is just one way we can assist" said Councillor Malcolm Hole, Mayor of Wellington Shire Council
"I would urge anyone seeking financial support for their events to apply now. Funding from council for events is only available under this scheme. We will be unable to meet requests that come in outside of this process"
Information sessions will be held in Sale and Yarram to provide information about the application process. Sessions will also include a brief training component covering effective event administration practices.
"These sessions are designed to provide support and to make the process as successful as possible. We would encourage any group that may be interested in organising an event to attend." said Cr Hole.
"Great events help to make Wellington a great place to work and to play" said Cr Hole.
Applications for funding for this round close on 1 August, with another round closing 1 March 2007.
The newly developed event sponsorship application forms are available on Council’s website www.wellington.vic.gov.au under the "Community" section or by contacting council.
