Floods Cause Roads To Close – Motorists Warned To Take CareLatrobe City is warning residents to be careful as a number of roads around the municipality have been closed, affected by flood waters and landslips. By Latrobe City - 14th April 2011 - Back to News Latrobe City’s coordinator emergency management Lance King said that a number of roads in Traralgon, Jeeralang and Newborough had been affected.
"There are road closures and landslips causing difficulties for drivers. There are diversions in place. Motorists are urged to slow down, not to drive through flood waters and to take extra care on slippery road surfaces. If you do not have to drive, please don’t. If you can find an alternative route, do so. Motorists are also asked to check the VicRoads website for further potential road closures.
"Despite the intensity of last night’s and this morning’s rainfall, the Traralgon Creek remains below minor flood level at this stage. The water levels are steady and not rising. Obviously, the situation is being monitored and we will alert residents to any potential change in the situation should it be required," Mr King said.

Two landslips on Jeeralang West Road have made the road impassible. The situation is being assessed and machinery is en route to start work on repairing the damage.

There is water over the road at Monash Road.
