"About 20 years ago the Old Slipway site became vacant when a purpose-built facility was constructed at the Gippsland Ports yard in Lakes Entrance."

"The old winch sheds have been restored by East Gippsland Shire Council, new timber decking installed and an area set aside for food trucks which will service locals and visitors in the months ahead." "It's a terrific location in the centre of Lakes Entrance that is set to open before the Christmas rush, and is a good example of reactivating an old site with a new purpose in life," Mr Chester said.
