Northe Welcomes Local Appointment To CcvMorwell MP Russell Northe has welcomed news Latrobe Valley resident Charlie Speirs has been appointed Director of Clean Coal Victoria (CCV). By Russell Northe - 27th April 2009 - Back to News "I have called Mr Speirs to offer my congratulations and extend my support as he undertakes his new role," Mr Northe said today.
Mr Northe said the community would be pleased an announcement had finally been made, some 9 months after the government opened applications.
"A number of residents have had important planning decisions deferred by Energy & Resources Minister Peter Batchelor pending the determinations of CCV so they will be keen to see the authority up and running as soon as possible," Mr Northe said.
CCV is expected to open an office this June in Traralgon, after Mr Northe secured a guarantee that the authority would be based in the Latrobe Valley.
