Rainbow Kids- The New Generation of ChildrenInterview about the upcoming documentary series "The Children of the Rainbow" By SEPR - 23rd August 2013 - Back to News The term "Rainbow Child" or "Indigo Child" seems to have come up repeatedly over the past few years. We interviewed Kristie Reeves, actress and producer on the documentary series "The Children of the Rainbow" to tell us what this show as well as the Rainbow Kids are all about.
Q: First of all, we are very interested in finding out who these so called Rainbow or Indigo Children are. Could you explain to us what is so different about those children?
A: The Indigos are actually the older generation of children. Most of them are now adults whereas the Rainbow children have only come in to this world over the past years. Most of them are no older than ten. These kids are very special: they are extremely sensitive, usually have an extraordinary talent in the arts, science or medical field, and they are here to change the world for the better. They are visionaries, peace makers, healers, inventors….Indigos have a more warrior like quality in comparison to the Rainbow children who can change the energy of the room with their beautiful presence.
Q: Did you know anything about these children before you started working on the series?
A: I had heard of the term Indigo Child before. My auntie actually gave me a website article a few years ago to "understand myself better", as she put it. She truly believed that I was an Indigo myself and after that I started doing some research and read a couple of books about Indigos. But it wasn’t until I started working on the series though that I really got into some extensive research…an actor prepares and I wanted to be prepared.
Q: How has working on the series affected your own life?
A: Having had my own difficulties growing as an Indigo child and seeing some of my friends’ children struggle with the way the educational structure is set up, I have always thought about what solutions we would have to make things such as school more fun. I wanted to figure out why some children were extremely sensitive and struggling with their sensitivity and what solution we could come up with. Interviewing a variety of people, from healthcare professionals, alternative healers, mothers and the children themselves, has first of all given me great respect for the work people are doing to help these children thrive and to support their parents in their journey. It was heartwarming to hear some of the stories. And it has given me faith that there are ways to nurture these beautiful children to help them thrive and actually reach their full potential. I believe that if we can do that, the world will be a much better place in the near future.
Q: When can we see the series?
A: The series will start airing soon. Our season premier date is September 16.
Q: We are very excited for this series and wish you best of luck with it.
A: Thank you!
