Decisions
Hard waste
For the 2017/18 financial year a hard waste service involving coupons will be introduced for ratepayers. Coupons can be redeemed at transfer station weigh bridges or a booked kerbside collection service can be arranged, on request, for a two by one cubic metre lot of waste.
Latrobe Regional Airport Masterplan
Latrobe Regional Airport Masterplan 2015 adopted with amendments.
Live Work Latrobe
Endorsed the completion of Stage 1 of the Live Work Latrobe project relating to housing, industry, employment and rural land use; and the commencement of Stage 2 to deliver long term strategies to guide future housing, industrial land use and employment, and rural land use.
Economic Development Strategy
The adopted Strategy is divided into two themes, the first positions Latrobe City as the "Engineering Capital of Australia" and a "nuts and bolts" focus on a range of day to day services designed to underpin economic development.
Community Sports Infrastructure Fund
Council endorsed the following projects for submission to the 2017/18 Community Sports Infrastructure Fund:
- Latrobe City Synthetic Field pavilion construction (Major Facilities)
- Moe Bowling Club Synthetic Green (Minor Facilities)
- Harold Preston Reserve Lighting projects (Minor Facilities)
- Traralgon West Sporting Complex pitch upgrade (Cricket Facilities)
- Burrage Reserve pavilion upgrade (Female Friendly Facilities)
- LCC Synthetic Facility Feasibility Study
Play Space Strategy
Council adopted the Play Space Strategy and Play Space Improvement Plan.
Reference Committee dissolved
Council resolved to dissolve the Disability Reference Committee and replace it with the establishment of a Latrobe Disability Network and hold two community forums annually to focus on key issues impacting on people with a disability, their carers and the sector.
Advocacy
CEO to prepare a report on the Assessment of the Economic and Social Impacts of the Proposed Great Forest National Park to the Latrobe City municipality.
