Glenn Lineham, Peter Lee and Geoff Hodge are the newly appointed Senior Wild Dog Controllers for Gippsland.

Vaughn Kingston, DPI Community Engagement Officer for the Gippsland Wild Dog Program, said the SWDCs will lead team members, provide a support and coordination role for Wild Dog Controllers and provide an informed and direct link for the public when reporting stock losses or reporting on dogs sighted or heard.

"Having the SWDC as the contact point for all wild dog activity through the Request for Assistance (RFA) process, will ensure accurate recording of wild dog activity and provide a more localised and coordinated effort in wild dog management," Mr Kingston said.

SWDCs will continue to undertake on-ground wild dog management activities across Gippsland as their core work activity.

Peter Lee, SWDC based at Bairnsdale said that local Wild Dog Controllers are familiar with local landowners, the lay of the land and the unique challenges involved in each RFA call.

"SWDCs will coordinate Wild Dog Controllers across the catchment to ensure that support is provided to landowners with stock susceptible to wild dog attack," Mr Lee said.
