Mchaffie Ward Encouraged To Get ActiveThe recently finished playground at the Rhyll boat ramp has a new bike rack for members of the community to get active this Spring. By Bass Coast - 17th November 2010 - Back to News Bass Coast Councillor, Jane Daly, says that the playground meets all the current Australian standards and was one of the first actions to be completed out of Council’s Playground Plan.
"The playground, which was completed in July this year, was designed with a boat theme given the coastal location," said Cr Daly.
"It features a spiral slide, swings, telescope, ship wheel, rock climber and fireman’s pole.
"The playground has already been put to good use, with many families and children visiting the park during the recent school holiday and weekends," said Cr Daly.
Cr Jane Daly helped improve the playgrounds in her area using some of her ward funds to have bike racks installed around her ward.
"Now that the warmer weather has arrived we are encouraging people to get active and enjoy our wonderful parks,
"Families want places that are interesting, safe and attractive and these improvements are aimed at encouraging both resident and visitors to use our parks and playgrounds
"Bike racks have now been put in at the Rhyll Boat Ramp Park, Wimbledon Heights Park, Jaycee Picnic Area and Sunset Strip Park," said Cr Daly.
"This is a really great opportunity to get on your bike with your kids and ride down to one of these playgrounds, for a swing, a slide and some fresh air."
