Traralgon Early Learning Centre Celebrates Twenty Years

since the centre commenced in 1988, certainly wasn’t to be forgotten.

With almost as much enthusiasm as for Christmas itself, children at the 29 place childcare centre in Franklin Street recently shared a birthday cake and joined in the birthday celebrations for Gippsland’s only occasional care centre.

Latrobe City’s manager child and family services, David Welch, said that since first opening, the centre has offered children a wide variety of activities and experiences to cover all areas of child development from social and emotional to physical.

"The recent birthday was also a celebration of the professional and dedicated staff who form a strong bond with the centre," Mr Welch said.

"The centre has a low staff turnover with five staff acknowledged for ten-years long service. One staff member worked for at the centre for 16 years, seeing whole families come to the centre and then move on to school."
