Victorian Governor to visit Wellington

Wellington Shire Council will be playing host to the Governor of Victoria John Landy, AC, MBE and Mrs Lynne Landy when they visit the Shire on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 June.

The itinerary for the two-day tour includes visits to:

  • Gippsland Regional Maritime Museum, Port Albert;
  • Yarram Bakery;
  • Yarram Hospital;
  • Central Gippsland Health service;
  • RAAF Base East Sale;
  • Neville Smith Timber Mill, Heyfield;
  • Robotic Dairy, Winnindo;
  • Maffra Secondary College;
  • George Gray Centre, Maffra;
  • Stratford Senior Citizens Centre;
  • Stratford Primary School;
  • Ramahyuk Aboriginal Corporation, Sale;
  • Gippsland Art Gallery, Sale;
  • Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Jeff Amos: "We’re delighted that the Governor and Mrs Landy are taking this opportunity to tour the Shire and to find out more about our vibrant and diverse community and what makes Wellington such a special place to work, visit and live.
