Phillip Island Speed Limit ChangesVicRoads have advised that speed limit changes will come into effect on Phillip Island from late July 2006. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 24th July 2006 - Back to News The changes are being implemented after an extensive review of the current speed limits, including community consultation.
The changes to signposted speed limits on Phillip Island are:
· Section 1, extend the 60 km/h limit on Phillip Island Rd from near Boys Home Rd to just West of the Visitors centre. The adjoining length of Phillip Island Rd to West of Woolamai Rd (section 2) to remain at 80 km/h.
· Section 2, Phillip Island Rd from West of Woolamai Rd to South East of Sunset Strip to be reduced from 100km/h to 80km/h.
· Section 3, Phillip Island Rd from Rhyll-Newhaven Rd to North-West of Sunset Strip to be reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.
· Section 4, Phillip Island Rd from East of Ventnor Beach Rd to South of Ventnor Rd to be reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.
· Section 5, Coghlan Rd, between Phillip Island Rd and Settlement Rd to be reduced from 100km/hr to 80km/h.
· Section 6, Settlement Rd, from East of Dunsmore Rd to East of Sanders Rd to be reduced from 70 km/h to 60 km/h.
· Section 7, Ventnor Rd, between Justice Rd and Grossard Point Rd this section to be reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h. The short section of 100km/h on the Grossard Point Rd approach to Ventnor Rd will also be reduced to 80km/h.
