By Bass Coast Shire Council - 1st July 2009 - Back to News

According to Council’s Recreation and Leisure Planner, Ella Angarane, Council has been working extensively on the draft over the last nine months.

"The vision of the plan is to create a high quality, welcoming and diverse recreation environment across Bass Coast," said Ms Angarane.

"The document recommends more detailed planning and also directs internal Council processes and communication to ensure a better service to the community.

"This is a really important document as it provides a future direction for recreation in Bass Coast over the next five years," explained Ms Angarane.

Sport and Recreation Victoria provided funds to assist with the plan’s development. This plan will replace the Municipal Recreation Plan 1999.

A full draft of the document can be viewed at any Council Customer Service centre or downloaded from www.basscoast.vic.gov.au . For more information, please contact Ella Angarane 1300 BCOAST (226 278).

Comments about the draft strategy can be forwarded to Ella Angarane, Recreation Planner, Bass Coast Shire Council, PO Box 118, Wonthaggi VIC 3995 or emailed to e.angarane@basscoast.vic.gov.au

The Recreation Plan 2009-2014 will be open for comment from 24 June to 22 July 2009.
