Ensuring players are catered
Mr Chester said, "I secured $880,000 from the previous federal government to put towards the $1.6 million project which included changerooms redevelopment to cater for female and family friendly rooms, refurbished amenities near the netball courts, new amenities near Past Players Hill, improved accessibility around the oval, upgraded competition netball court and a new training netball court."
"I have fond memories of playing at the oval as a kid and I don't think these change rooms have been upgraded since, so now they will ensure players and officials are appropriately catered for. Improving accessibility around the ground and also with amenities will allow more spectators to enjoy local sport and know their needs are being considered and catered to."
"This redevelopment is a huge boost to the local community and ensures our local sportspeople are being provided for and have access to exceptional facilities right here in Sale." Mr Chester continued.
Liveability and wellbeing
Wellington Shire Councillor John Tatterson said council was pleased to have this project complete, with the assistance of the former federal government and the John Leslie Foundation. "Liveability and the wellbeing of our communities are key strategic directions of this council and the upgrade of the Sale Oval precinct is a key project that will support participation in sport and recreation into the future."
"This project will ensure the Sale Oval facilities meet the requirements of our local communities now and into the future." r Tatterson said. Wellington Shire Council provided $525,000 and the John Leslie Foundation provided $225,000 towards the $1.6 million project. Wellington Shire Council administered the project.
