You can't trust Labor to deliver for the regions, says Leader of Victorian Nationals Peter Walsh MP
Today's Federal Budget will demonstrate yet again that Daniel Andrews and Labor can't be trusted to deliver the investment regional Victoria deserves.
Labor's Federal Treasurer will tonight lock in cuts to regional projects across Victoria and all Daniel Andrews can say is; "that's a matter for the federal government". This comes despite his regular attacks on the previous Federal Coalition government for "dudding" Victoria.
Under Daniel Andrews' Labor, regional spending is just 13 percent - all while Labor racks up blowouts of more than $30 billion on metro mega-projects
Increase in health workforce
Andrews was so concerned about Victoria receiving its "fair share" of federal investment in 2019 that he wasted $1.7 million of Victorian taxpayers' money campaigning against the then Morrison government - a campaign which has been slammed by Victoria's integrity bodies as breaching Victorian law.
At risk in tonight's Budget is critical investment that would increase the amount of regional healthcare workers, support regional childcare services, and provide more workers for our agricultural sector.
Stop wasteful spending
Under Daniel Andrews' Labor, regional spending is just 13 percent - all while Labor racks up blowouts of more than $30 billion on metro mega-projects. Regional Victoria will only suffer more now that Anthony Albanese and Federal Labor are slashing regional investment.
A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals government will direct 25 percent of all new infrastructure spending to our regions. Under our Long-Term Economic Plan, we will control debt and stop wasteful spending, cut taxes, support small businesses, reward hard-working families, and ensure investment in regional Victoria.
