Living Safely And Confidently Living safely and confidently in your own home – no longer is it a right we can take for granted. There are, however, measures we can take to reduce risks. By Wellington Shire Council - 10th September 2003 - Back to News Wellington Shire Council is hosting a series of presentations titled "Living Safely and Confidently In Your Own Home" and "Safety in Banking", specifically tailored for senior citizens. Victoria Police Senior Constable Alan Redshaw and National Australia bank Community Liaison Officer Andrew Batty will deliver the presentations.
The Confident Living component takes a look at dispelling the myths about house break-ins and provides practical, easy to understand advice on how to stay safe in your own home.
Safety in Banking is a detailed presentation developed by the Council For The Ageing, The National Seniors Association and the Australian Banking Association that identifies ways of reducing the risks associated with personal theft and fraud.
The combined presentations will last approximately one hour, with tea and coffee available at each session. They will be held at:
