Regional Partnership gets overwhelming response!

Nine new Regional Partnerships have been established across the state by the Victorian Government

By Portal Admin - 7th November 2016 - Back to News

Nine new Regional Partnerships have been established across the state by the Victorian Government to give regional communities greater say in what matters to them and ensure their voices reach the heart of government.

Gippslander’s were asked to engage with the Partnership in two ways:

  • log on to a website and nominate issues they see as key to the region’s future
  • express interest in attending a Regional Assembly on November 17.

  • Over 1200 Gippslander’s visited the website in just three weeks -many made multiple visits. Over 250 left ideas on regional priorities. The ideas will be incorporated in discussions at the Regional Assembly. Expressions of interest to attend the Regional Assembly were three times the number of available places. A wide and diverse range of participants will be selected to attend the meeting so that all sectors are represented. The Assembly will collate the key priorities for Gippsland for input to the Victorian Government’s 2017 Budget.

Agribusiness Gippsland’s Chair Paul Ford is playing a key role in the process by taking on the position as Deputy Chair of the Gippsland Regional Partnership.
