10inTEN – short plays to dazzle at the Performing Arts Centre 10in TEN 10inTEN, a local production using local actors and directors to present a one night only event of ten minute plays, will be staged on Thursday 17 November from 8pm at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon. By Latrobe City - 31st October 2011 - Back to News The production is presented by Latrobe Performing Arts in conjunction with Break a Leg Theatre.
Producer, Dan Clancey of Break a Leg Theatre, said that 10inTEN is an opportunity for local actors and directors to produce theatre based on a successful international model.
"This is one of the most exciting pieces of theatre I have had the opportunity to work on – fast-paced with laughs, emotion and drama, all in one night. What more could an audience ask for?"
"10inTEN fits a new trend in theatre which has been embraced locally and further afield. The success of the Short+Sweet, a festival of ten minute plays which has been presented in Latrobe a number of times, is testament to the changing face of performances and audience adaptability," Mr Clancey said.
Latrobe Performing Arts coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, added that ten minute plays have become a sensation around the world.
"This genre offers a diversity of style giving the audience a rollercoaster ride of experiences in the one evening of theatre. It is exciting that we have the opportunity to have both local and national writers presenting shows for 10inTEN. The quality of the productions is superb and will cater to every taste," Ms Roberts said.
10inTEN will be performed on Thursday 17 November from 8pm at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon. Refreshments will be available from 7pm. Tickets are available through the Latrobe Performing Arts Box Office on 5176 3559.
