Bass Coast Shire Drainage

Bass Coast Shire Council has called on residents to contact the Shire if they experienced flooding problems due to this week’s stormy weather.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 24th August 2005 - Back to News

Urgent drainage issues can be lodged with Council 24 hours a day simply by calling the general numbers (03) 5671 2211 or (03) 5951 3311.

If there is flooding anywhere on the main roads (ie. Bass Highway or the Phillip Island Tourist Rd) then residents should call VicRoads on 13 11 70.

Council’s Assets Director, Guy Wilson-Browne, says Council needs to know where the issues are so they can factor them into the work program and to help them make decisions about where Council’s allocated funds should be spent.

"If there is flooding that represents a safety issue then obviously that becomes more of a priority than flooding that is not a significant threat to people or property.

"We thank the community for their understanding and patience, these jobs will be completed as soon as we possibly can," said Mr Wilson-Browne.
