Donations of Christmas puddings wanted

While food donations are not recommended, this year, were appealing for donations of Christmas puddings, that will be put in hampers to help share the taste of Christmas delights. We are also asking for presents or gifts, particularly for girls aged seven to 12 years old, however gifts suitable for all ages are welcome. Gifts (including puddings) should be new and placed unwrapped under the trees.

The project is coordinated by the Combined Welfare Group which includes organisations such as the Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul and Bass Coast Healths Davey House. These services work directly with local families. Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari, says that Council is a proud supporter of this amazing initiative and thanked the community for their continued generosity.

Giving tree project

"This year has been a particularly challenging one and the Giving Tree can help to take some pressure off Bass Coast families experiencing financial hardship over Christmas. Donating a gift can change a life and bring a smile to the faces of children and their families at this special time of year." Cr Tessari said.

Christmas Giving Trees are on display in Councils Customer Service Centres in Wonthaggi and Inverloch, and in the foyer of the Grantville Library at the Transaction Centre, and we are accepting gifts until Thursday, 10 December. Please note the changes in our hours of operation. Any gifts received after this date will be held over until next year.
