Latrobe City Libraries April School Holiday Program A SuccessLatrobe City Libraries school holiday programs continue to prove popular with a total of more than 400 children attending and enjoying the program provided by Latrobe City during April. By Latrobe City - 4th May 2011 - Back to News Latrobe City coordinator libraries, Debbie Skinner explained that there were two different activities held over the two week holiday period.
"The first week Latrobe City Libraries hosted the Scentwists in a twisted science show where the children were entertained and educated in basic science concepts with a twist of surprise and fun in a creative and informal setting.
"Science came to life with the Scientwists. The experiments were interactive and hands on, from floating tea bags, flying balloons, a popping milo tin lid, cool flames, circling smoke, an air blaster and water that seemed to disappear just to name a few.
"In the second week we welcomed Terry Cole and his Circus in a Suitcase, a comedy circus show where the children were taken on a journey through the brilliant and often chaotic world of the circus," Ms Skinner explained.
"Terry Cole is an accomplished actor, director, musician and circus performer. He is a long term member of Circus in a Suitcase and the Famous Fratellini Brothers and is also an inspirational workshop leader.
"Traditional circus acts took on a new twist with Terry showcasing his masterful craft through juggling, unicycle, balancing, contemporary clowning and comedy.
Circus in a Suitcase proved to be a highly skilled and very, very funny circus show which was enjoyed by both children and adults," concluded Ms Skinner.
