Northe Honoured To Be Reinstated As Local Member Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe today said it was a privilege to be reinstated as the Member for Morwell and thanked Latrobe Valley residents for their support at the official Declaration of Results. By Russell Northe - 8th December 2010 - Back to News "The community has stood behind me, and I am honoured and humbled by the overwhelming support they have given me over the past four years, and again on the 27 November," said Mr Northe.
"I am fully committed to this region, and I will give my all to ensure we receive our fair share of Government support and investment."
Mr Northe said his vision for the Morwell Electorate was for a strong progressive region, a place where all ages are considered and where geographic location does not mean disadvantage.
"I will be working for vibrant industry and business where there is opportunity for all, and where family, including our youth, receive due recognition and appropriate services."
"I am very grateful to the people of the Morwell Electorate for their confidence in my abilities as their Parliamentary representative. This is not a job I take lightly and I assure the community that I will continue to fight for our region," Mr Northe said.
"I am really looking forward to being part of a responsible, transparent Coalition Government which brings back commonsense, removes reams of red tape and looks after all Victorians."
Mr Northe also passed on his thanks to a number of people who had contributed to his success on 27 November.
"There are so many people to thank, firstly to my family, especially my wife Jenny, for their ongoing support and without whom I would not be able to do the job.
"To the number of volunteers who were at the voting centres handing out how to vote cards, and to those who also contributed in many other ways both on Election Day and prior, I whole heartedly thank you.
"I am unquestionably looking forward to the challenges and success the next four years will bring, and I thank the community once again for their trust and support."
