Labor’s regional jobs failure
Latrobe-Gippsland’s youth unemployment rate has steadily increased and the failure to have jobs is now one of the problems the region is facing. Learn more.
The latest figures show there are 9731 fewer people employed in full-time work in the Latrobe-Gippsland region than before Daniel Andrews came into Government.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data indicates the region’s unemployment is at 8.2 per cent – 2.1 per cent higher than December 2014.
Yet more concerning is the rising unemployment rate among local youths.
Latrobe-Gippsland’s youth unemployment rate has steadily increased since late 2014 and was 12.8 per cent in June.
This equated to 3551 fewer jobs since the change of government in December 2014.
