Buchan streetscape project to boost businesses and tourism after disruption from wild storms praised by Darren Chester
Darren Chester praises the Buchan streetscape project for its positive impact on local businesses and tourism post-storm damage. Federal-State funding facilitated improvements, including new pathways connecting the town to Buchan Caves Reserve.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester says the Buchan streetscape project will be good for local businesses and the visitor economy in the aftermath of a severe storm which damaged the Buchan Caves Reserve infrastructure.
Darren Chester noted local crews' diligent work, funded by the Federal-State Recovery grant, enhancing Buchan's streetscape and connecting it to attractions
Buchan township revitalization
Mr Chester said local contracting crews had been working hard on the project in recent months thanks to funding from the Federal-State Local Economic Recovery grant program. The improvements to the Buchan township managed by East Gippsland Shire, include:
- Enhancing the streetscape with new pathways
- Linking the main street to the Buchan Caves Reserve and the sporting facilities
"Investing in better facilities on public land is good for the liveability of our local communities and tourism," Mr Chester said.
