Liddiard Road Celebrates 50 Years  Liddiard Road Celebrates 50 Years Nationals Member for Morwell and former Liddiard Road Primary School student Russell Northe has congratulated the school on its 50th anniversary in Traralgon. By Russell Northe - 25th November 2011 - Back to News At their recent celebrations, Mr Northe had the opportunity to address the school community and reminisce about his years at the school.
"I have very fond memories of attending Liddiard Road, and am proud to say that I was a past student as was my older brother and younger sister.
"As a former student of Liddiard Road Primary School, it was fantastic to be able to relive my school years recently at the school where various events were undertaken involving past and current students, teachers and Principals.
"I congratulate the organising committee who had arranged a number of activities to entertain all guests, including photographic art displays, a BBQ lunch, and the presentation of school photos from the past 50 years."
Mr Northe, who spoke at the event, said it was amazing to see a school go from having 9 teachers and 245 students on their opening day grow markedly to a highly popular and thriving education centre.
"From 1961 to 2011, there have been many milestones at the school, including additional classrooms and other amenities to being named the regional winner of the State Garden Award in 1985.
"I am sure in the next 50 years there will be more and more achievements here at Liddiard Road, and I look forward to seeing the school continue to grow and prosper."
Mr Northe also congratulated all past and current Principals, teachers, staff, school council members, parent club members and parents who have all assisted in providing quality education and opportunities for students to achieve their goals.
"I commend you for the work you all put in each and every day for the benefit of your students and children and I congratulate you once again for reaching this amazing milestone."
