Cr Brown Awarded Exclusive Scholarship
Bass Coast Shire Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Kimberley Brown, has been awarded one of only two scholarships for the Cranlana Colloquium from the Municipal Association of Victoria.
The Cranlana Colloquium is a six-day leadership program run by the Myer Foundation. It challenges leaders from business, government and community to examine their values, ethics and vision, enabling participants to reflect on their leadership style, judgement and decision-making capability.
The Cranlana Programme equips leaders with a set of value-based frameworks for making difficult decisions where there may not always be a clear choice between right and wrong, and where tensions exist between social, economic and environmental forces such as public expectations and business interests.
Cr Brown said she is looking forward to the opportunity to broaden her perspectives and strengthen her decision-making capabilities.
"I believe I will learn by allowing myself time to reflect upon matters of responsibility and ethical behaviour with the assistance of others with similar experiences," Cr Brown said.
"It’s a huge honour to have been awarded this scholarship and I’m really excited to take part."
Cr Brown will take part in the program starting 14 September.
