Kernot-Krowera Road temporarily closed due to landslip damage from torrential rain

Kernot-Krowera Road temporarily closed due to damage from heavy rainfall over the past few months.

By news@gippsland - 15th February 2023 - Back to News

A landslip on Kernot-Krowera Road causing considerable damage has been identified as a result of heavy rainfall over the past few months. This is a significant landslip that is currently unstable, and there are no viable temporary options to keep the road open, therefore the road has been temporarily closed for all road users in the interest of public safety.

Road rehabilitation

We are currently undertaking engineering and design work required to stabilise the ground and rectify the landslip. Once the design work has been finalised, rehabilitation works will commence. We appreciate that this temporary road closure may present an inconvenience to nearby properties and other road users, we ask for their patience during these times.

Our community, residents and other stakeholders will be kept up to date via our website. For more information on this project, visit Kernot-Krowera Road - Landslip page or contact Bass Coast Shire Council's Infrastructure Asset Management Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5671 2211.
