The Traralgon Tyers United Football Netball Club (TTU) change rooms will benefit from a $50,000 grant for the redevelopment of the existing pavilion at the Tyers Recreation Reserve, to provide female change rooms, male and female umpire rooms and toilets for people with a disability.

Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe said the funding injection from the program, which assists local councils to redevelop and improve football and netball facilities across the state, will be of great assistance to the club.

"The Country Football Netball Program acknowledges the important role regional sporting facilities and their resident clubs play in their community," Mr Northe said.

"From providing a place for locals to meet and be physically active, to mentoring players, coaches, and volunteers, the CFNP ensures clubs like these have the necessary facilities to continue doing their great work on and off the field," Mr Northe said.

Mr Northe said the improvements would be a great boost for the club, and would provide the community members who utilise the facilities during the football and netball season with better access.

"With more and more people wanting to get involved at clubs like the TTU, the CFNP ensures our sportsmen and women can continue to enjoy their sports with the facilities they need.

"I commend Club members for taking the time to apply for these grants for the benefit of their players, visitors and committee members. I am sure this will make a huge difference to the level of comfort for both the home team and visitors.

"By working together we can ensure country football and netball clubs continue to be the backbone of their communities, and I encourage other clubs in our region to apply for the next round of funding under the program," Mr Northe said.
