Warragul South Storage Basin gets $400k disinfection system to ensure quality drinking water and reliable infrastructure maintenance

A new disinfection system has been installed at Gippsland Water's Warragul South treated water storage basin to improve reliability and safeguard water quality.

Managing director Sarah Cumming said the $400,000 project was a part of a larger program of work to boost resilience across the organisation's service area. "We're investing $48M across the Baw Baw Shire to support high-growth areas, increase system capacity and maintain infrastructure," Ms Cumming said.

"Routine upgrades, like this one, play a crucial role in maintaining the effectiveness and reliability of the entire network. While there's often more buzz around our bigger projects, like large-scale treatment plant upgrades, smaller projects like this one are also important for ensuring our customers can continue to rely on us for safe and reliable drinking water."
