The December Council Meeting also saw the endorsement of the Anderson Street Reserve Master Plan. This Reserve is positioned at one of the highest points of San Remo and provides spectacular views towards Westernport and Cape Woolamai. It has a historical significance and was gazetted as a site for public recreation in 1888. Vital community spaceThe Reserve currently has a picnic table, two bench seats, a tap and a mix of established Cypress trees and more recent plantings. Cr Whelan said that the Reserve is highly valued by the San Remo community. "It is a vital community space that needs to cater for the growing San Remo community. The Master Plan includes the provision of a playground and fitness area, a rotunda, park furniture, trees and landscaping. The Master Plan has been developed to guide the future use and investment for the Reserve." Cr Whelan said. To view the Master Plan, visit Anderson Street Reserve Master Plan.
