Libraries Supplying Information About Careers In Information ManagementLatrobe City is encouraging secondary students who love to surf the web and read, to consider a career in information management. Local library branches are currently encouraging people to come in and play By Latrobe City - 21st July 2008 - Back to News ‘Are you smarter than a Librarian?’
Latrobe City’s manager community information services, Julie Kyriacou, said that globalisation of information means that opportunities in the information management industry will grow, not only in the Latrobe Valley, but throughout the world. "It is a great career for young people to consider," Ms Kyriacou said.
"Displays featuring information regarding careers in information management will be available at Moe, Morwell and Traralgon libraries from Monday 21 July until Sunday 27 July 2008.
To see if you are up to a career in information management, call into your local library branch and play ‘Are you smarter than a Librarian?’ Correct entries go into the draw to win six movie tickets. Competition closes 6pm Friday 25 July 2008.
Find out more about surfing the web for a living at your local library or attend an information industry careers night at the State Library of Victoria's Experimedia IT space on Tuesday 22 July from 5.30 until 7pm. For more information go to www.destinationlibrary.pbwiki.com.
