Excellence in Agribusiness Awards Now OpenExcellence in Agribusiness Awards are now open for nominations. By Portal Admin - 2nd June 2020 - Back to News The ever popular Excellence in Agribusiness Awards are now open for nominations, and Member for Morwell Russell Northe is encouraging local agribusiness organisations and producers to consider submitting an application.
The Excellence in Agribusiness Awards are a Gippsland region-based Awards program to recognise, celebrate and reward collaboration and innovation. There are three premier awards on offer and a further 13 awards that recognise that recognise excellence right across the food and fibre supply chain.
Nominations for the awards were initially set to close on May 25; however due to COVID-19 the deadline for submissions has been extended until June 25.
"It has been an incredibly tough time for many in the agriculture and food and fibre sector in recent years with drought, bushfires and now COVID-19 affecting many in the industry, whom I might add have shown extraordinary resilience during these challenging times" Mr Northe said.
Mr Northe is encouraging people and businesses to familiarise themselves with the Excellence in Agribusiness Awards and consider nominating for these important awards.
"This is the second year of the awards which recognise primary producers, food manufactures and exporters who are such an economic driving force for the Gippsland region. It’s imperative these leaders and businesses are recognised through awards such as this, and at the same time we also thank the generous sponsors for their support during this difficult period" said Mr Northe
