Brief:York St in Sale nears completion of its major transformation with minimal disruption, Darren Chester praises work crews for keeping traffic flowing, improving safety, and securing local contractors.
The major transformation of York St in Sale is almost complete with the work crews doing a great job to carry out this project with as little disruption as possible for locals, according to Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester. "The work crews have been able to keep traffic flowing and provide access to businesses as they have undertaken the project. Along with intersection safety improvements, the highway is being asphalted, footpaths widened and landscaping enhanced on Sale's busiest thoroughfare."

Funding secured
Mr Chester said, "I secured this money from the previous federal government and Wellington Shire Council is managing the project with plenty of work for local contractors. Sadly, I'm worried about other projects which we also secured money for from the previous government, but the state government has failed to begin construction. Under the infrastructure review announced by Federal Minister Catherine King"
"I'm afraid that several safety upgrades will be cut from the transport budget and our roads will miss out. I will keep fighting for our local projects because I know what a difference projects like this York St redevelopment can make for safety and the amenity of our communities," he said.
