Funky tap to hit TraralgonAn energetic and innovative dance and music performance will hit the stage at Traralgon on Wednesday 4 May at 8pm, bringing dynamic stagecraft and raw, fresh and invigorating dance. By City of Latrobe - 8th April 2005 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Performing Arts and Venues Co-ordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that ‘BPM Beatsperminute’ was the next generation in performance tap.
"The show intertwines tap, vocals, bass, guitar and drums, layering live rhythms to invent a new interpretation of the art of tap. With an original score of percussive jazz through to funk, rock and rap, the performance features a unique full body style of smooth, sophisticated tap.
"Performing in and around the audience, ‘BPM beatsperminute’ challenges the convention of audience interaction whilst fusing the ideas of musician, vocals, rap and tap," Ms Roberts explained.
"The show is performed by an elite ensemble of talented musicians and dancers including Nathan Sheens from ‘Tap Dogs’ and ‘SHOUT!’ and Glyn Gray from ‘Moulin Rouge’ and ‘SHOUT!’," Ms Roberts said.
"If you are looking for an exciting evening of musical entertainment with a twist, then ‘BPM beatsperminute’ is just what you need," Ms Roberts concluded.
‘BPM beatsperminute’ will be performed at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre, Traralgon on Wednesday 4 May at 8pm. Tickets are available from the Latrobe City Box Office on telephone 5176 3559.
