Nominate Your Favourite Wellington Place

Wellington Shire Council is encouraging residents to nominate their favourite Wellington place as part of the Building Commission of Victoria’s special Year of the Built Environment 2004 competition.

To be eligible for the competition, a favourite place must be man-made or modified by people and can include favourite buildings, roads, parks and gardens, public art, walking tracks, bridges or jetties.

Gippsland’s winner will then go through to the state-wide category to compete against other regions’ winners. Those who lodge nominations will go into a monthly prize draw to win a Motorola V300 mobile phone.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Jeff Amos: "This competition is a great opportunity for some of the fantastic spots that we have within our shire to gain much-deserved recognition. The council urges residents to nominate any favourite places that are special to them."

Nominations for My Favourite Place close on 24 July. Entry forms and further information is available from Wellington Shire libraries and service centres or by telephoning the council on 1300 366 244.
