What Happens In 24 Hours? A Lot Can Happen In 24 Hours A photography project that gives a rare insight into the Gippsland community will be on display through the month of May at selected businesses across Bass Coast. By Bass Coast - 28th April 2011 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Council’s Arts Officer, Josephine Kent, said the 24 Hours project asked photographers to take pictures representing ‘One day in the life of Gippsland’.
"The project is part of the Creative Gippsland be inspired arts festival," explained Ms Kent.
"Photos were taken on April 17 2011 and give an insight into our lives."
The Festival artistic director, Neill Gladwin says the project shows a lot can happen in 24 Hours - people work, play, laugh, cry, fall in or out of love.
"Lives end and new ones are born, all in the course of one turn of the planet," said Mr Gladwin.
"This exhibition explores all these themes and much more. Around 100 images will be displayed from across Gippsland."
Participating photographers include six camera clubs, two primary schools and a host of professional, semi professional and interested photographers.
Works will be on display at Grantville Pantry and the Bendigo Bank in Grantville, Hillies Meat and the Westernport Hotel in San Remo, Zest Café and the National Bank in Cowes, Stockdale and Leggo and the Melbourne Furnishing Company in Wonthaggi and Books and Massage and Red Elk Bar Café in Inverloch.
