St Paul’S Students’ Junior Art On Display At Performing Arts CentreLatrobe Performing Arts Education Exhibition space is proud to present its current junior art exhibition from St Paul’s Anglican Grammar Traralgon Campus at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre Traralgon. By Latrobe City - 18th July 2012 - Back to News Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that the exhibition showcased work from Year 1 to Year 5 students and explores self portraits, metallic collages and water colours.
"This was a wonderful opportunity for local schools to participate in local arts life. It’s not just about hanging the students’ work on the wall, it’s about experiencing the entire process of organising and holding an exhibition. Seeing their artworks on display is the culmination of everything that led to that point," Ms Roberts said.
Karen Fox, St Paul’s Anglican Grammar art teacher, said that the opportunity for the children to exhibit art at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre provided them with a wonderful experience to connect with our wider community.
"At St Paul’s the primary children spend an hour each week in the art room, where they enjoy experimenting with different art techniques and mediums to create their own unique masterpieces. All children take great pride in their finished pieces and seeing their work on display and are very excited at the prospect of having their work displayed in a ‘real gallery’ setting," Ms Fox said.
Latrobe Performing Arts invites the local community to attend St Paul’s Anglican Primary School exhibitions official opening on Wednesday 25 July at 4.30pm at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre. Please RSVP to the Latrobe Performing Arts Box office on 5176 3559.
The exhibition continues until late August during Box Office opening hours Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm.
