Bass Coast Shire Council, in conjunction with Sally Jeavons of @leisure, is looking for public input into the draft of the Wonthaggi Skate Park Masterplan.

Interested people are invited to attend a public meeting at 6 pm on Tuesday, 7 May 2002 in the Council Chamber, Bass Coast Shire Council Civic Centre, Baillieu Street, Wonthaggi.

Plans will be on display in the foyer of Council’s Customer Service Centre in McBride Avenue, Wonthaggi prior to the meeting.

Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr John Gains encouraged anyone from Wonthaggi or the surrounding area with an interest in skateboarding to come along to the meeting. "Council recognises the popularity and importance of skateboarding, we’re keen to make sure that the facilities we develop are great to use and are safe, and the best way to do that is to talk with skateboarders," he said.

People who can’t get to the meeting can still send their comments to: "Wonthaggi Skate Park", @leisure, Rear 534 Mt Alexander Rd, Ascot Vale, 3032.

For further information about the meeting or the Masterplan contact Jenny Churchill, Bass Coast Shire Council’s Arts & Leisure Co-ordinator, on 5671 2211 or 5951 3311.
