Council helps with Briagolong Tennis Club facilities upgrade

By Wellington Shire Council - 18th March 2005 - Back to News

Sunday 20 March will see the official opening of upgraded facilities at Briagolong Tennis Club, with some $8,000 provided by Wellington Shire Council for the much needed upgrade to the spectators’ shelters, and for plumbing and electrical maintenance work.

The club also features new multi-purpose courts and floodlights jointly funded by the local community and Sports & Recreation Victoria (SRV).

Celebrations will be held at Briagolong Tennis Club during the afternoon of 20 March, with the official opening of the new facilities carried out by Wellington’s Councillor Charles McCubbin at 1pm.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Peter Gault: "It’s great to see what a united community can achieve by sheer drive and determination, and we are pleased that the council has been able to lend its support to maintaining and upgrading sports facilities in the town."
