Dress up for a fun-filled night at the Inaugural Mayoral BallWellington Shire Council and sponsors Telstra Countrywide are promising a fun-filled night to remember, as preparations for next month’s inaugural Mayoral Ball move into full swing. By Wellington Shire Council - 15th August 2003 - Back to News The Ball is being held on Saturday 20 September at Sale Memorial Hall with the proceeds going towards the Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre – a new $5.9 million entertainment and performing arts venue for Wellington and the Gippsland region, which is due to officially open later in the year.
So it is time to dig out the dinner jackets, polish up the pearls and get in fast for tickets which are already selling fast.
Sponsored by Telstra Countrywide, a number of the tables for the 400-ticket event have already been sold. Tables of ten people are available for booking, while the organisers can also make up tables comprising small groups, couples and individuals.
Business, clubs and organisations have all donated generously to ensure this significant fund-raising event is a major success, helping with arrangements for the evening itself, and providing a terrific range of auction items and raffle prizes.
There will be a champagne reception at 7pm, and dinner and dancing from 7.30pm through to 1.30am to the accompaniment of live music from Encore and The Rebbeccis.
Said Wellington’s Mayor John Jago: "This is a formal event, but the emphasis will be very much on having fun. It’s a chance to dress up, meet friends and raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.
"The new Centre itself will provide a focal point for entertainment and the performing arts in Gippsland and will be equipped to host anything from theatre to concerts, exhibitions, functions and conferences."
Tables of ten people are available for booking at $500, or individual tickets can also be purchased for $50 each.
Bookings can be made through Wellington Shire Council’s Sale Customer Service Centre at 70 Foster Street, Sale.
