The Bass Coast Jobs & Careers Expos are back this August and September, returning to Wonthaggi and Phillip Island with more employers, more opportunities, and even more reasons to attend. 
The Bass Coast Jobs Expos connect job seekers and businesses, offering vacancies, career advice, and industry insights this August and September Connecting careers locallyNow in its fourth year, the expos have grown to become a vital connection point between local job seekers and employers, providing direct pathways into a wide range of industries, including tourism, healthcare, construction, education, mining, hospitality, conservation, and more. Delivered by Bass Coast Shire Council in partnership with Workforce Australia and the Victorian government's Skills and Jobs Centre, the free expos offer something for everyone, whether you're looking for your first job, a new direction, or additional work. You can also chat to local training providers and support services about career pathways, traineeships and apprenticeships. A physical Jobs Board will also be on display, featuring current vacancies from local employers, including those who may not be exhibiting on the day, so you can explore even more job options and find the right fit. Opportunities await localsBass Coast Mayor, Cr Rochelle Halstead, encouraged the community to take full advantage of what's on offer: "We've heard amazing stories of people walking into these expos unsure of what to expect, and walking out with their dream job!" "That's what this is all about: opening doors and giving you the chance to show up, have a conversation, and discover what's possible. If you've ever thought about working locally, this is the perfect place to meet some of Bass Coast's best employers and take that first step," said Cr Halstead. Support for successBoth the Wonthaggi and Phillip Island expos will feature hands-on support from the Gippsland Skills and Jobs Centre, offering free one-on-one advice to help you polish your resume, improve your interview skills, and put your best foot forward. The Phillip Island Expo will also include an extra opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs, with the Business Victoria Small Business Bus on site.
