A musical trip through Vienna for morning music fansLatrobe City’s morning music series brings to life the romance and splendour of yesteryear with an evocative performance of Viennese music at the Moe Town Hall on Wednesday 27 July at 11am. By Latrobe City Council - 19th July 2005 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Performing Arts and Venues Co-ordinator, Kathleen Roberts said that soprano Jane O’Toole and tenor Kun Xie would take the audience on a musical tour through Vienna.
"The show will capture the essence of Viennese music and leave the audience revelling in the memory of a time gone by.
"Imagine castles in the clouds, fairy tale towns, colourfully clad waitresses balancing steins of beer, and the swirl of silks as ladies are caught up in the Viennese whirl," Ms Roberts said.
"Come for a walk down memory lane as the singers revel in the music and comedy of ‘A Waltz through Vienna.’ The show features such timeless classics as The Student Prince, The Merry Widow, Vienna City of My Dreams, Die Fledermaus and many more," Ms Roberts explained.
Ms Roberts added that the audience would be able to relive all the wonder and colour of a bygone era which make Viennese music what it still is today.
‘A Waltz through Vienna’ will take place on Wednesday 27 July at Moe Town Hall at 11am. Tickets are available from the Box Office on 5176 3559.
