Latrobe’s Family Day Care careproviders keep fit and healthy

Latrobe City Family Day Care recently held a Yoga and Pilates class for their careproviders at the Morwell Leisure Centre.

Family Day Care Field Officer, Kate Jellis, said that the class proved to be a hit with the care providers and helped them all unwind in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

"Yoga and Pilates are fun activities and provide an excellent way to decrease stress whilst staying fit and active at the same time," Ms Jellis said.

"Family Day Care careproviders work from their own homes and care for children between six weeks and 12 years of age. Latrobe’s Family Day Care service provides childcare to local residents and a great deal of emphasis is placed on providing care in a small group with children of varied ages. By doing this children can form important relationships outside of their immediate family and it also helps to foster their development within a caring and secure environment," Ms Jellis added.

Latrobe’s Family Day Care service is available to families that are living, working or studying in Latrobe City. Family day care is available full time, part time, before and after school, on evenings and on weekends. Care for children with additional needs and respite care is also available.
