Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced Drouin Primary School will receive at least $22.097 million for an upgrade, as part of the Victorian Budget 2021/22. Drouin students will learn in first-rate classrooms modernising the school, including replacing existing temporary facilities and adding an additional, spaces in permanent facilities, as well as providing a competition grade gymnasium Modernising the schoolThe funding will upgrade and modernise the school, including replacing existing temporary facilities and adding an additional 225 spaces in permanent facilities, as well as providing a competition grade gymnasium The budget invests $1.6 billion to build new schools and improve existing schools making sure our kids have the bright futures they deserve. Construction to create more jobsNot only will this investment ensure great local schools, it will also create more than 3,500 new jobs in construction and associated industries, including more than 2,900 jobs in metropolitan Melbourne and around 615 jobs in regional Victoria. Access to a great schoolIn the past seven years, the Labor Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools, more than 1,700 school upgrades creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries. The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every Victorian gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school. Massive school upgradeMember for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said, "This is a massive upgrade of the school that will deliver students the facilities they need and deserve.
