Latrobe Leisure Churchill Pool Reopening Latrobe Leisure Churchill Pool Latrobe Leisure Churchill’s indoor pool facilities will reopen for public use on Monday 23 April following refurbishment works over the last month. By Latrobe City - 17th April 2012 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Firmin ward councillor, Darrell White explained the works undertaken.
"The pool hall roof and ceiling have been replaced with the new roof incorporating substantial improvements to the insulation of the facility. The pool hall lighting has been replaced with new LED units, further improving the energy efficiency of the building.
"While the facility was closed for the roof refurbishments, we took the opportunity to repaint line markings in and around the boundary of the pool which freshened up the aesthetics of the pool area," Cr White said.
Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Ed Vermeulen thanked the patrons of Latrobe Leisure Churchill for their patience.
"We know that the closure may have caused some inconvenience to those patrons who would normally use the pool but it was necessary for the pool to remain closed during the works. I’d like to thank the public for their patience during the closure and it is plain to see that the result is definitely worth the effort,"
"I’d encourage everyone wanting to check out the refurbishments, swim or splash in the pool or use one of the other great services on offer at Latrobe Leisure Churchill to head down and take a look," Cr Vermeulen concluded.
