Craft Day At Bairnsdale LibraryA craft day for primary school age children will be held at the Bairnsdale Library on Tuesday, 28 September from 1.30pm until 4.00pm. By East Gippsland Shire Council - 20th September 2004 - Back to News For the event the library has enlisted the help of the East Gippsland Wool and Craft Group to conduct a series of workshops.
The crafts will include Knitting, Appliqué and Japanese Kumihimo – the decorative braiding commonly used on Samurai Swords.
Children will hear stories about various crafts then divide into three groups to spend approximately 45 minutes learning two of the crafts.
The craft day follows the success of a recent school holiday art day held in conjunction with the Bairnsdale and District Art Society.
Bookings should be made by ringing the Bairnsdale Library by Tuesday, 28 Sept.
