Paul’s visit to the shire has been arranged by the council’s library service to mark the start of its visiting authors program for 2004. He will be working with grade 5 and 6 students from across the municipality in hour-long, interactive sessions designed to stimulate the imagination.

He will be working with students from Maffra, Rosedale, Sale, Stratford and Yarram in a series of practical writing sessions designed to boost their creative thoughts and talents.

Paul has extensive writing experience in the areas of fantasy and science fiction, and is the author of such well-known books as the young adult anthology Dream Weavers – Australia’s first heroic fantasy anthology, and the best-selling fantasy series The Quentaris Chronicles.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Jeff Amos: "Authors like Paul Collins are a great role model for our budding young writers and readers across the shire, by encouraging them to develop their reading and writing skills and explore their imagination. "
