Recognising Regional AchieversTime is running out to lodge nominations for the 2009 Regional Achievement and Community Awards, The Nationals Member for Morwell, Russell Northe said today. By Russell Northe - 8th July 2009 - Back to News Encouraging local residents to consider nominating, Mr Northe said there were many individuals, organisations and communities within the Latrobe Valley worthy of recognition for their tireless dedication or outstanding achievement.
Recognised as Victoria’s most prestigious regional awards program, the awards provide an opportunity to say thank you to the individuals, businesses and community groups who work tirelessly to make rural and regional Victoria an even better place to live, he said.
Nominations close on July 17 2009 for the following award categories:
Regional Development Victoria Business Achievement Award
Regional Development Victoria Trade and Career Achievement Award
Parks Victoria Regional Achiever Award
Parks Victoria Environment and Sustainability Award
Bartercard Local Hero Award
RACV free2go Youth Community Involvement Award
Kleenheat Gas Community of the Year Award – population under 5000, and
Kleenheat Gas Community of the Year Award – population over 5000.
All winners will receive a trophy, and prizes include airtime packages on Prime Television and Commonwealth Bank award saver accounts,
Finalists and the award winners, will be announced at a gala presentation dinner at Ballarat’s Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre on Saturday, October 10 2009.
