The Club Development Network is a free web-based program that supports the development and management capacity of sporting clubs in Australia.

"Well-managed and effective sporting clubs are essential to providing quality sporting opportunities at the grassroots level," said Bass Coast Shire Council’s Arts & Leisure Coordinator, Jenny Churchill.

"The network aims to assist sporting clubs to identify ways in which they can develop and deliver the best possible services to their members."

The Club Development Network provides sporting clubs with the latest tools and resources through the following services:

· A simple online checklist allowing sporting clubs to gauge how they are performing;

· An electronic library containing a wealth of information and tips on how to run an effective sporting club;

· Regular electronic news updates, and access to back issues, with the latest information and advice on all aspects of club management;

· Regular email alerts with information on such things as grant and fundraising opportunities, workshops and conferences; and

· Competitions with the chance to win prizes.

Already the Club Development Network is helping more than 7,000 clubs across more than 80 different sports to improve various aspects of their management and development.

"The Club Development Network is another example of how Australia is at the forefront of good management in sport.

"This program is a vital tool in maintaining our community’s sporting excellence," stated Ms Churchill.
